Softball Recap: Wallkill Panthers vs. Goshen Central Gladiators
Wallkill had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-15 to make it five. They came up short against the Goshen Central Gladiators, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 last Wednesday.
Wallkill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariana Reyes, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
As for Goshen Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.
On Goshen Central's side, they let Sophia Springer and Lila Snyder run wild. Springer went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while Snyder went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs Snyder has posted since back in May of 2025. Bailey Gomulka was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
