The Scituate Spartans will head out to take on the Burrillville Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Scituate turned things around against Woonsocket on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Villa Novans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since May 20, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Katelyn Chatelle, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Victoria Geisser, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Burrillville never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Davies Career & Tech two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Patriots. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Burrillville got a massive performance out of Samia Shakan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Burrillville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davies Career & Tech only posted an OBP of .278.

Scituate's record now sits at 3-7. As for Burrillville, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6.

Everything went Scituate's way against Burrillville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Scituate made off with an 8-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
