Softball Game Preview: Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers vs. East Valley Falcons

The Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers will challenge the East Valley Falcons at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Sherman Oaks CES put an end to it on Monday. The Vipers lost 13-2 to the Knights. The Vipers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Kaida Vorster made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jillian Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 22 runs the game before, East Valley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against Northridge Academy, falling 22-1. Like the Vipers, the Falcons also had to let a streak go: they had won three straight, but that streak is no more.

East Valley now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences took their victory against East Valley when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 30-10 score. Will the Vipers repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
