Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Whitfield Bruins vs. Heritage Generals

For the first time this season, Northwest Whitfield will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Heritage Generals at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Northwest Whitfield's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Heritage has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Northwest Whitfield is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 74 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Ringgold on Wednesday. They were dealt a 57-27 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The loss put an end to the Bruins' undefeated start to the season.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Heritage and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Generals lost 80-59 to the Warriors on Saturday. Generals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Warriors since Saturday.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Northwest Whitfield, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Northwest Whitfield strolled past Heritage in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 69-53. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
