Basketball Recap: Cyprus Pirates vs. West Jordan Jaguars
Cyprus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 63-37 to the West Jordan Jaguars. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
West Jordan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Giselle Muffett, who went 9 of 22 on her way to 24 points along with eight boards and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Muffett has scored at least a third of West Jordan's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlee Reupena, who went 7 of 15 en route to 15 points along with eight assists and seven steals.
Cyprus' record now sits at 0-13. As for West Jordan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.
