Basketball Recap: Bethlehem Comes Up Short

After flying high against Thomas Nelson on Friday, Bethlehem came back down to earth. The Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees fell 70-59 to the Daviess County Panthers on Saturday.

Daviess County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zoey Beehn led the charge by dropping a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. Beehn has become a key player for Daviess County: the team is 12-6 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Hoagland, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 18 points and five assists.

Bethlehem's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Daviess County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Bethlehem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Daviess County, they have already played their next match, a 56-43 victory against Logan County on the 17th.
