Volleyball Recap: Mapleton Mounties vs. Wellington Dukes

Mapleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Wellington Dukes, falling 3-0. The Mounties were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dukes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-10.

Wellington found their leader in underclassman Courtney Krosse, who had six digs and 11 assists.

Mapleton's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Wellington, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mapleton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Plymouth at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wellington, they will face off against Black River at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Black River will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Wellington surely won't give up without a fight.
