Football Game Preview: Dixie Flyers vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs

The Dixie Flyers will head out on the road to square off against the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Dixie has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Crimson Cliffs will arrive with six straight victories.

On Friday, Dixie was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 14-10 to Desert Hills.

Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs faced Snow Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Mustangs walked away with a 28-21 win over the Warriors.

Dixie better keep an eye on Briton Phillips. He was instrumental in Crimson Cliffs' win, picking up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. They also got a significant boost from Van Dailey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 96 yards.

Crimson Cliffs' run defense was locked in: Snow Canyon could only muster 3.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Diedrick Moore for the heroic effort on defense: he. Crimson Cliffs' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.5.

Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Crimson Cliffs, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Dixie and Crimson Cliffs were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but Dixie suffered an agonizing 21-20 loss. Can the Flyers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
