Basketball Recap: Cave Spring Comes Up Short

Cave Spring and Carroll County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Cave Spring had to settle for second. They fell to the Carroll County Cavaliers 64-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Bryce Smoot was his usual excellent self, putting up 21 points for Carroll County. Smoot's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Cave Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Carroll County, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-1.

Cave Spring does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carroll County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-51 loss against Northside on the 1st.
