Basketball Recap: Calhan Comes Up Short

Calhan lost against Crowley County back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Calhan Bulldogs were outmatched by the Crowley County Chargers and fell 77-41. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Chargers are ranked 54th).

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Patrick Glaser, who went 8-for-17 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. The game was Glaser's 14th in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Brock Burnside, who posted five points.

This is the second loss in a row for Calhan and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Crowley County, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Looking ahead, Calhan will face off against The Colorado Springs School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calhan is facing The Colorado Springs School at the right time seeing as The Colorado Springs School is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Crowley County, they will take on Thomas MacLaren School at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
