 Clarion Area came tearing into  Friday's  game with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Brookville Raiders as they made off with  a  14-2 win. Considering Clarion Area has won five matchups by more than five  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Devon Lauer made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. Lauer was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, five  RBI,  and three  runs.
 In other batting news,  Noah Harrison was a standout: he scored a  run while going 1-for-2.  Bryce Brinkley was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 On Brookville's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Carter Kessler, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Clarion Area's victory was  their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Brookville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
 Clarion Area will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Elk County Catholic at 4:00  p.m. Clarion Area knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Elk County Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Brookville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Keystone at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Brookville is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.9  runs per game  this season.
