Football Recap: Elkton/Lake Benton Piles Up the Points Against Desmet

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elkton/Lake Benton). They breezed past the DeSmet Bulldogs to the tune of 65-20 on Friday. The Elks have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Elkton/Lake Benton's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for DeSmet, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Elkton/Lake Benton will head out on the road to face off against Great Plains Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Elks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for DeSmet, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Florence/Henry at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
