Baseball Game Preview: Patrician Academy Saints vs. Wilcox Academy Wildcats

The Patrician Academy Saints will face off against the Wilcox Academy Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Patrician Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Southern Academy on Saturday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

Patrician Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Mize, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases. With that strong performance, Mize is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Wilcox Academy faced off against Southern Academy on March 4th. Wilcox Academy fell just short of Southern Academy by a score of 10-8. The loss put an end to the Wildcats' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wilcox Academy fell to 2-1. As for Patrician Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
