Baseball Recap: St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish vs. Barberton Magics

St. Vincent-St. Mary couldn't quite beat Barberton on Friday, but the two-run margin was a huge improvement compared to the seven-run defeat they were dealt on Thursday. The St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish fell just short of the Barberton Magics by a score of 5-3. St. Vincent-St. Mary has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zack Kurkey and Max Milkovich stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kurkey got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, while Milkovich scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

On Barberton's side, Jojo Porter made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Porter was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
