Basketball Recap: Naya Pajovic's Big Game Can't Quite Lead DME Academy Regional over Southeastern Prep Academy

After flying high against The Rock last Tuesday, DME Academy Regional came back down to earth. DME Academy Regional fell just short of the Southeastern Prep Academy Falcons by a score of 51-48 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against DME Academy Regional this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-43 back in November of 2024.

DME Academy Regional's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Naya Pajovic, who went 5 for 9 to rack up 15 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Pajovic a new career-high in points. Shantell Wilks was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds.

DME Academy Regional's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Southeastern Prep Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-14.

Looking ahead, DME Academy Regional will welcome IMG Academy Blue at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. DME Academy Regional is facing IMG Academy Blue at the right time seeing as IMG Academy Blue is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Southeastern Prep Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Potter's House Christian at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th.
