Basketball Recap: Taryn Stearns Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Cody-Kilgore

There's no place like home for Brady, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They rang in the new year with a 46-33 win over the Cody-Kilgore Cowboys/Cowgirls on Friday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 43-34 victory the Cowboys/Cowgirls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brady to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taryn Stearns, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Stearns has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Stienike, who posted eight points along with 15 rebounds and three steals.

Brady's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Cody-Kilgore, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Brady and Anselmo-Merna will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Anselmo-Merna's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Brady's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cody-Kilgore, they will take on Hay Springs on Tuesday.
