Basketball Recap: Fort Wayne Wayne Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Fort Wayne Wayne Generals ended up a good deal behind the Brownstown Central Braves and lost 47-33.

Despite the loss, Fort Wayne Wayne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Davianna Irons went 6 for 12 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of BraLeah King, who posted six points and four steals.

Fort Wayne Wayne has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Brownstown Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Fort Wayne Wayne will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fort Wayne North Side at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Fort Wayne Wayne is facing Fort Wayne North Side at the right time seeing as Fort Wayne North Side is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brownstown Central, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-36 victory against Lanesville on the 3rd.
