Basketball Game Preview: Orofino Maniacs vs. Priest River Spartans

The Orofino Maniacs will head out to face off against the Priest River Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Orofino has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while Priest River will arrive with four straight victories.

Orofino is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Logos on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Orofino came up short against Logos, falling 77-53.

Meanwhile, Priest River hadn't done well against St. Maries recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Priest River came out on top against St. Maries by a score of 54-44. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly ten points.

Orofino's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Priest River, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Orofino came up short against Priest River in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 66-59. Can Orofino avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
