Baseball Recap: Ukiah Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Ukiah took on Windsor on Tuesday. The Ukiah Wildcats fell just short of the Windsor Jaguars by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Jaguars since April 13, 2022.

Brayden Beebe put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Dylan McGehee was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Kamble Koch also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ukiah's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Windsor, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ukiah will venture away from home to take on Casa Grande at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ukiah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Windsor, they will head out to square off against Ukiah at 7:00 p.m. on March 26th.
