Basketball Recap: Chaparral Pumas vs. Redlands East Valley Wildcats
Chaparral lost against Redlands East Valley back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pumas were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to the Wildcats. While the Pumas didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 17-11 in the first quarter.
Redlands East Valley had a senior duo take command as Demaj Moore went 11-for-20 en route to 33 points and six steals and Dariel Bahamontes dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mason Young, who posted eight points.
Chaparral now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Redlands East Valley, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaparral will be home for the holidays to greet California at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Redlands East Valley, they will host Indio at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
