Recap: Willis Wildkats vs. Caney Creek Panthers
The Willis Wildkats's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 55-46 win over Caney Creek. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Willis considering their 23-point performance the matchup before.
Leading Willis to victory were Amy Roberts and Nija Calyen. Roberts dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Calyen scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Calyen continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. Sofia Dominguez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Willis' win bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Caney Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Willis and Spring will round out the year against one another at 10:00 a.m. on December 28th at. Spring is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. Caney Creek will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Woodlands at 1:00 p.m. on December 29th.
