Baseball Recap: Allegan Gets the Win

After losing to Saugatuck the last time they met, Allegan decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tigers walked away with a 4-1 win over the Trailblazers on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Tyler Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, John Dial was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Brayden Sternberg also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Allegan's record now sits at 5-12. As for Saugatuck, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Allegan will challenge Kellogg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saugatuck, they will head out to take on Black River at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
