Softball Recap: Countryside Takes a Loss

Countryside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 25-11 to the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 7-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Ella Sprague was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Kimberly Crouch, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Countryside's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Countryside will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Northeast at 7:00 p.m. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mount Dora Christian Academy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
