Baseball Recap: Seckman Takes a Loss

Seckman fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Jackson on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fighting Indians by a score of 6-5. The Jaguars have struggled against the Fighting Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Seckman's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 20-7. As for Jackson, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seckman will face off against St. Louis University at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Jaguars 3.1, the Junior Bills 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Jackson, they will challenge De Smet Jesuit at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
