Softball Recap: Gibson Southern Comes Up Short

Gibson Southern fell victim to Evansville Reitz and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Titans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Carly Potts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gibson Southern saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laney Scherer, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
