Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Marquette

Lafayette faced Marquette in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Lancers came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 3-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win back in April.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 19-25, 25-15.

Lafayette got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Behl out in front who had 17 digs and five assists. Those five assists gave Behl a new career-high. Nate Kraemer was another key player, getting 17 assists and five digs.

Despite the loss, Marquette still got an impressive performance from Tristan Chambliss, who had seven digs and three aces.

Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Marquette, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 27-10 record.

As of now, neither Lafayette nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
