Softball Recap: Kennard-Dale Beats Trinity for Their Third Straight Victory

Kennard-Dale entered their tilt with Trinity on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Shamrocks. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Taryn Ashenfelter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kennard-Dale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elaina Zabkowski, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Kennard-Dale's record now sits at 3-1. As for Trinity, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennard-Dale will face off against Spring Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Trinity, they will head out to face off against East Pennsboro at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give Trinity their first taste of in-conference action this season.
