Baseball Recap: Mendon Unity Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mendon Unity can now relate to. They fell just short of the Brown County Hornets by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mendon Unity saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Frese, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

Mendon Unity has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. As for Brown County, they pushed their record up to 22-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Mendon Unity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brown County, they will take on Routt Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
