Baseball Recap: Harding Raiders vs. Howland Tigers
Harding had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-9 to make it five. They lost 12-1 to the Howland Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 on Tuesday.
As for Howland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3. Considering they have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Howland's part, Sully O'Donnell tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, O'Donnell posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.
On the hitting side, Howland got a massive performance out of Santino Donatelli, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Donatelli also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Isiah Burgess was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harding will face off against Girard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Howland, they will take on Western Reserve Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
