Recap: Carver Challengers vs. Hancock Eagles
The Carver Challengers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Hancock with points to spare, taking the game 36-17. For Carver, this counts as revenge for the 22-21 defeat Hancock walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carver to victory, but perhaps none more so than Astarte Washington, who scored 14 points. JaNiyah Statham was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Carver pushed their record up to 15-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Despite that those victories, the team's offense hasn't been rolling: across that stretch, they only averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Hancock, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Carver will stay at home for another game and welcome Austin College and Career Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Hancock, they will head out on the road to square off against Kelly at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
