Basketball Recap: Hardin-Central Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hardin-Central can now relate to. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers on Thursday. The Bulldogs have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Wellington-Napoleon found their leader in sophomore Cali Russell, who posted 22 points and three steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Russell. Makayla Simsheuser was another key player, putting up eight points.

Hardin-Central's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Wellington-Napoleon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-20.

Hardin-Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wellington-Napoleon, they have already played their next game, a 52-37 loss against Santa Fe on the 1st.
