Baseball Recap: St. Croix Lutheran Takes a Loss

St. Croix Lutheran blew St. Agnes out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday St. Agnes got their revenge. The Crusaders might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-5 to the Aggies, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Crusaders' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row dating back to last season.

Sammy Hoffman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Ballard-Hampton, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

St. Croix Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Croix Lutheran will square off against St. Croix Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Agnes, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge St. Cloud Cathedral at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
