Soccer Game Preview: Camas vs. Union

The Camas Papermakers will head out to face off against the Union Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Camas is headed into the game having not lost since March 22 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Battle Ground get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Friday. Given Camas' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Battle Ground are ranked 199th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Union). They blew past Skyview 9-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for Union, who have now won six contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Union pushed their record up to 9-3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those five matches. As for Camas, their win bumped their record up to 7-2-5.

Camas was able to grind out a solid victory over Union in their previous meeting last Wednesday, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Papermakers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
