Baseball Game Preview: Kingsburg Vikings vs. Selma Bears

For the second straight game, Kingsburg will face off against Selma. The Vikings will welcome the Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Kingsburg is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Kingsburg let Selma stack four runs on them in the fifth inning on Wednesday but luckily Kingsburg prevailed anyway. The Vikings came out on top against the Bears by a score of 8-4.

Jensen Hirschkorn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hirschkorn was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Gavin Ekizian was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Duarte, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Kingsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Selma only posted an OBP of .290.

This is the second loss in a row for Selma and nudges their season record down to 12-7. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Kingsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
