Basketball Preview: Great Neck North Blazers vs. Elmont Memorial Spartans
Great Neck North is 1-9 against the Spartans since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Great Neck North Blazers will be playing at home against the Elmont Memorial Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Great Neck North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
Last Friday, Great Neck North was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the Indians. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Great Neck North in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost five in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ben Ijadi, who scored seven points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Dhruv Bagchi was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Elmont Memorial blew the Blazers out of the water with a 74-22 final score. With Elmont Memorial ahead 38-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Great Neck North's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Elmont Memorial, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
