Basketball Recap: Williston Takes Down Wildwood in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Williston had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Wildwood Wildcats, posting a 72-44 win. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Williston to victory were De'Andre Harvey and Xavier Kirkpatrick. Harvey went 9 for 15 en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Kirkpatrick went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Harvey's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Adam Henderson, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points and eight boards.

Williston was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wildwood only racked up six assists.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Louis Brown, who posted ten points and four steals. Ashton Wilson was another key player, putting up nine points.

With the victory, Williston broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-11. As for Wildwood, their loss dropped their record down to 20-7.

Williston will challenge Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hawthorne will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Williston surely won't give up without a fight. Wildwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
