Preview: St. Michael Academy vs. Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs
St. Michael Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Grand Traverse Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Michael Academy, who comes in off a win.
St. Michael Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top against Pellston by a score of 39-30. The victory was just what St. Michael Academy needed coming off of a 54-10 loss in their prior match.
Grand Traverse Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 56-25 loss at the hands of Onekama. While losing is never fun, Grand Traverse Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while Onekama is ranked 226th).
Despite the defeat, Grand Traverse Academy had strong showings from Anna Hoffman, who scored nine points, and Sadie Brown, who scored five points along with six rebounds and four steals.
St. Michael Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
