It's playoff time, and Troy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Huntington Red Devils on Saturday. Considering the Trojans have won 23 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Isabella Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Troy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Huntington, they moved to 27-3 with that defeat, which also ended their 16-game winning streak.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Troy beat the Red Devils by a score of 13-2 later that day.
