Volleyball Recap: Plainfield Central Wildcats vs. Romeoville Spartans        
        
		
             Plainfield Central was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They fell just short of the Romeoville Spartans by a score of  2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the  2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in October of 2023.
 In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Plainfield Central sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 17-25,  26-24.
 Despite the  defeat, Plainfield Central saw an underclassman step up:  Isabella Ricketts  had six  digs and three  aces. That's the most  aces  Ricketts has posted  in her last 11  contests.
 Even though they lost, Plainfield Central  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 12  aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Romeoville only served eight.
 Romeoville's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Alexis Crowley, who  had nine  digs.
 Plainfield Central's record is now 6-21. As for Romeoville, they pushed their record up to 15-14 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Plainfield Central has already played their next matchup,  a  2-0  loss against Waunakee on the 18th. As for Romeoville, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  game,  a  2-0  win against Crete-Monee on the 19th.
