Volleyball Recap: Veterans Victorious

Veterans posted their closest victory since August 14th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Strong Rock Christian Patriots 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Warhawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Veterans had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-18, 15-8.

Tori Robinson paced Veterans' offense, picking up 18 kills. Robinson got some help from Grace Lamontagne and her 19 assists. Lamontagne also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alyssa Baughier, racking up two apiece.

The win made it two in a row for Veterans and bumps their season record up to 12-3. As for Strong Rock Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Veterans wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Eagle's Landing on the 23rd. As for Strong Rock Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Ola on the 26th.
