Basketball Game Preview: La Plata Warriors vs. Chopticon Braves

La Plata is 0-10 against Chopticon since January of 2016 but things could change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the La Plata Warriors will get right back to it and host the Chopticon Braves at 5:00 p.m.

On Thursday, La Plata came up short against Thomas Stone and fell 54-41. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, La Plata saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aniyah Sisco almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 70.7% of La Plata's points, marking the 19th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Parker, who put up six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Chopticon strolled past Calvert with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 33-16.

Chopticon's win came from a few key players La Plata will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kirnique Swales, who scored 11 points.

Chopticon's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points over those games. As for La Plata, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
