Foothill Tech hadn't done well against Grace recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Dragons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lancers, sneaking past 8-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 on Monday.

Jackson Venti and Andy Campa dominated on the mound. Venti pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Campa pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Venti has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Robert Juker, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jacory Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Foothill Tech and bumps their season record up to 9-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Grace, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7-2.

Coming up, Foothill Tech will host Canyon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Dragons are facing the Cowboys at the right time seeing as the Cowboys are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Grace, they will face off against Thacher at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
