Basketball Game Preview: Sugar-Salem Diggers vs. Teton Timberwolves

The Sugar-Salem Diggers are taking a road trip to challenge the Teton Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sugar-Salem will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Sugar-Salem is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Ririe: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Sugar-Salem blew Ririe out of the water with a 67-26 final score. The Diggers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Andee Petterson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Monika Nead was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Teton had just enough and edged North Fremont out 50-47 on Saturday.

Teton is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Sugar-Salem, they pushed their record up to 19-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Everything came up roses for Sugar-Salem against Teton when the teams last played last Friday, as the squad secured a 69-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sugar-Salem since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
