Baseball Recap: Danvers' Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Danvers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Bishop Fenwick Crusaders on Wednesday. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 6-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Beckett Wodarski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Curcuru, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Richmond, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Danvers' victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Bishop Fenwick, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Danvers will face off against Marblehead at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Fenwick, they will take on Archbishop Williams at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
