After a string of three wins, Franklin-Simpson's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 8-2 to the Ohio County Eagles. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Franklin-Simpson's defeat dropped their record down to 22-15. As for Ohio County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Franklin-Simpson will head out on the road to square off against Warren East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ohio County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Hancock County at 5:30 p.m. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
