Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Fatima's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Fatima lost to Linn back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Fatima Comets snuck past the Linn Wildcats with a 60-55 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comets.

Despite the loss, Linn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carley Brandt dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brandt has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hackmann, who posted 12 points.

Fatima is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Linn, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Fatima and Linn should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Fatima (ranked 91st) will meet Steelville (ranked 426th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fatima will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. Meanwhile, Linn will square off against Russellville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday up 174 places (53 vs. 227).
