Basketball Recap: Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 33-32 to the Heritage Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 62-57 loss last Monday.

Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Cara Phillips and Natalie Knoll, who each put up eight points. Amera Roberts held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Heritage was led to victory by Brooklynn Powell and Maegan Frye. Powell went 5-for-9 en route to 14 points, while Frye went 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Frye is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Bre Ploense was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 15-16 record this season. As for Heritage, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-11.
