Baseball Preview: Hanover Nighthawks vs. Fairfield Knights

The Hanover Nighthawks will head out on the road to challenge the Fairfield Knights at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hanover has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 20.

Anthony Steel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Foreman, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Hanover hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as York County Tech struck out eight times.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Fairfield made sure to put some runs up on the board against York Catholic on Monday. Fairfield was the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over York Catholic. Considering Fairfield's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Stephen Higgs, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Knox Deming was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
