Basketball Recap: Miller Place Comes Up Short

Miller Place was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 70-35 loss at the hands of the Mount Sinai Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-50 back in December of 2024.

Miller Place's loss came despite strong showings from Ava Zicchinelli and Julie Orenzo. Zicchinelli dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards, while Orenzo posted 17 points.

Miller Place's record now sits at 2-16. As for Mount Sinai, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Kings Park the next time they take the court. Mount Sinai will host Kings Park at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while Miller Place will head out to face them at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
