Basketball Game Preview: Butler Bulldogs vs. Glenn Hills Spartans

Butler has gone 10-0 against Glenn Hills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Butler Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Glenn Hills Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Butler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.

Butler fought the good fight in their overtime match against Josey on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Eagles 56-52. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rania Curry, who went 8 for 16 on her way to 18 points and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayla Harris, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Glenn Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Burke County 65-14. One positive for the Spartans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Glenn Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Butler, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.

Everything came up roses for Butler against Glenn Hills in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 74-43 win. Does Butler have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glenn Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
